US Is 'Practically Owned' by China

The US supremacy as the top world economy will end sooner than many people believe, so gold is a better investment than the dollar despite it hitting a new record, Tom Winnifrith, CEO at financial services firm New Rivington Street Holdings, told CNBC.com Monday.

Gold hit a new record high Monday and silver rose to another 30-year peak as investors were worried about the dollar weakening further after the Federal Reserve hinted at more quantitative easing last week.

The US trade deficit and debt continue to grow and the authorities are reluctant to address the problem, preferring to print money, Winnifrith said.

"America is practically owned by China," he said.

He reminded of the fact that in 1900, sterling was the world's reserve currency but by 1948, that was no longer the case as the British Empire collapsed.

"America is doing what Britain did," Winnifrith said. "America spends much more than it can afford and it's not addressing the issue."

In 1832, China and India were the world's two largest economies and by 2032, they will regain that status, he predicted.

"The 200 years when Britain and the US were the top two economies were an aberration and that will change," Winnifrith said.

"The decline of empires has happened much faster than folks think. I believe that gold will be a far better bet in 20 years than the dollar," he added.

US Debt Crisis

Economist Arnold Kling has written a long paper on the possibility of the US facing a national debt crisis.

"Guessing the Trigger Point for a U.S. Debt Crisis"

This is the conclusion:

".....it would appear to be quite likely that the United States will experience a debt crisis within the next two decades, unless the path for fiscal policy changes from what is projected by the Congressional Budget Office. However, international capital markets continue to treat U.S. Treasury debt as a fairly safe asset. One way to interpret this phenomenon is that investors
expect the United States to take steps to get its fiscal house in order.

The assumption that the United States will have the political will to stabilize its fiscal position is based more on hope than on recent experience. If the political process continues to enlarge the government’s commitments to spend in the future, investor expectations will change at some point. That change in market perception is likely to be swift and severe."

The key is once the world does not believe the US can sustain its fiscal mishap or is at war with China, the US Empire will fall.

The November Visa Bulletin is out. The Department of State said, "The receipt of demand from Citizenship and Immigration Services Offices has far exceeded their earlier indications of cases eligible for immediate processing. As a result, it has been necessary to hold most of the Employment cut-off dates for November. At this time, it is not possible to provide any estimates regarding future cut-off date movements."

Even the Government does not know when you will get a green card. If you have not started the money-sucking process involving a lot of attorney fees and application fees, DO NOT START, NEVER!

The US education, especially the primary and secondary schools, is known to be the worst among all developed nations. Young kids can't do math, read maps, or even spell. This blogger has met college students who can't spell and don't even know the meaning of a simple word "humble".

DO NOT COME HERE TO RUIN THE FUTURE OF YOUR KIDS! If you need to, send your kids to some other countries like the United Kingdom, Singapore, ...etc.

However, this is another story if you are coming here for your graduate school. Over half of graduate students in engineering, computer, economics, mathematics are foreigners. If you go to the engineering department at UCLA, you will find that you don't even need to speak English as most professors and students speak Chinese. US Dollar will collapse --- here is why:

In order for the RMB (China's currency) to succeed the $US as the reserve currency, it was always going to be necessary for the $US to collapse. The US has undertaken policy that will ensure such a collapse, and it is simply for the reason that the US is fiscally incontinent, printing money, and pouring the wealth of the future into zombie banks. When the $US falls, the US will finally see the forces of inflation unleashed, as the massive imports of commodities, goods and services surge in price.

When the US Dollar collapses, RMB will become the new reserve and pricing currency. The US is a declining nation. Foreigners should never pursue the American nightmare. Americans should leave this land of nightmares.

Job-based Green Cards -- A waste of your life!

As I posted last time, the quota is 100% reserved for a lot of applicants waiting in line. If you were born in India, it would take you 10 years to get a green card. This is only the wait for the priority date to be current.

Other bad news for job-based nonimmigrant visas (e.g. H-1B, L-1), and job-based immigration:

1. Onsite surprise visit to H-1B companies
2. Department of Labor's inability to "verify" employers for Labor Condition application
3. Department of Labor's tactic to delay Labor Certification
4. Congress's unwillingness to increase green card quotas in the economic downturn

H-1 B and L-1 Be Aware: Surprise visit to your company from the Immigration

Don't be surprised if someone shows up at your company asking to see you, your boss and the HR. Another reason why you should not even try to get an H-1B or L-1 visa. The USA DOES NOT WANT YOU, FOREIGNERS, TO BE HERE to steal jobs from Americans.

The following is a report by one company HR:

The investigator came back yesterday. Her name was ______________. She indicated that she was a contractor hired to conduct these investigations (this is similar to the investigators that conduct the background investigations for government clearances). She had a badge with a picture.

She first met with me (HR REP). She asked me some very basic questions about the company, what we did, how many employees we had, work hours, office locations, etc. She also asked me how many employees we had on H1Bs, how many we had sponsored for permanent residency and how many total of our employees are legal permanent residents. It was hard to answer these off the top of my head. She said approximate numbers were ok even after I offered to get an employee list that I could look at to get her the exact numbers. She then asked me a couple of questions about the H-1B employee – what he did, his salary, work hours and start date. She asked me for ID so she could verify that I was who I said I was and she asked to see a W-2 or pay stub. I didn’t have either so I showed her the payroll register from our last payroll which satisfied her requirement. She then met with the foreign national employee for a couple of minutes. He said that she asked him about his job duties, work hours and salary. She also checked his ID. She asked me for a quick tour around our offices and left.

It was a pretty quick process. None of her questions were hard to answer – hopefully we passed. She was very nice and professional. I did apologize to her that I missed her when she came over the first time and she said that they want their visits to be “surprise” visits so unfortunately this is a problem they have to deal with.

The foreign national employee did tell me that he asked her if he was selected randomly and she indicated that he wasn’t – I guess they are going to be doing this for everyone.

My comments:

I am sure many H-1B holders have job duties that are very heavily altered. Some L-1's are just plain lies. Lawyers and paralegals should consider seriously to get out of the business immigration field. Your clients are angry. The government is giving you a hard time. I am sure some of you will get indicted because of the worsening job market.
